Any numbers for ssx in mossy 835? I would like to see how they compare with indian creek.
I have both chokes for my 535, but I'm waiting for warmer temps before I do any pattern testing. It's 18 degrees here, so it looks like I'll be waiting a bit longer.
I will post the results once the patterning is done.

That's what I'm waiting on. I like testing when 60 degrees gets here. It was 60 yesterday but raining. It's a lot colder today. Last wek it was nice a couple of days but 30mph winds. Forget that.
thanks. I'll check back

I'm waiting for the temps to get into the 50's-60's. That way I can make a fair comparison with my current load/ choke numbers. I'm also trying to evaluate whether or not a deep clean/ polish job on my 535 will help improve pattern numbers from last year.
I have some Hevi 3-2-7 loads that I'm going to test with my .643" SSX and .660" IC BDS choke.
Shot mine today, it was 80 degrees here. Mine put 251 in 10in. Circle at 40 yards

Those were shot today in 45 degree temp.
Great numbers. Guess I'll have to order the ssx and some more 7's. If I keep this up I'll have to borrow money to hunt.
i own a ssx for my mossy 835. now its a .690 or .695 not like people are sayin on here. did they make different constrictions for this choke in moss. 835 ? i am havin a hard time findin any hevi shot around here. must go up to cabelas i guess. cant wait to get some an see what patterns i get. i no last year i got 210 at 40 yds in a 10" circle with the winchester #5 shot shells in 60 degree weather. i have a gobble stopper scope on my gun and it works great.

Its 670
I think I can help. I have all these chokes: Strut Stopper Xtreme (TG151X .670)
Gobble Stopper Xtreme (TG171X .695)
Gobble Stopper (TG171 .679)
I would love to see some patterns with the SSX 670 and the 7s.. I have had good luck with it in winchoke and it appears they have the constriction about right for the 7s in the Mossy
Hey Archery1 if I got 210 at 40 with wenchester #5s I would stay with it. Sure would like to see some patterns.

Ok you twisted my arm. :z-guntootsmiley:
And that was shot on a 45 degree day.

And here is the other one. I only shot 2 shots out of this choke so far. Not bad for the temp.

Very very nice.. Some variance but nonetheless very nice..

Tom, that choke actually out shot the Indian Creek and the Star Dot choke that day. That choke should hum once it gets 60 degrees. But I will test it again and see for sure. But it definately shot better in the colder weather.

that Gobble Stopper (TG171 .679) is one bad choke with lead 5's,lead 6's and both 3" and 3.5" Winchester EXRange ammo in my 835
