Title: Need Ideas On a Good Longbox
Post by: StruttinGobbler3 on February 21, 2011, 09:34:11 PM
Well, I need some advice. Been turkey hunting several years but am just now starting to venture into the world of custom turkey calls. Got a LightsOut slate call in the mail, and now am looking into a good custom long box. Anybody have some suggestions as to who makes a good, realistic,  screaming loud long box? Thanks.

"screamin' loud" is pretty par for the course, but a great paddle caller will play soft & low as well ...
... it can be used as an excellent finishin' caller, as well as a locator ...
The maker you choose could / just depend on your budget & time frame - some great ones have been mentioned already ...

I'd surely add Dawkins, Snodgrass, Williams, & Anderson to the list - "in no particular order" ... ;)
... & might wanna' keep an ear out for Strawser's new ones as well ...

... hth & good luck with your search ... 8)

I picked up one this weekend that S&S made for me. It is out of walnut and zebrawood. It plays how ever load you want it to and is all turkey.
