Title: Rem 870SM Jelly Head .665
Post by: Longshanks on February 24, 2012, 02:51:28 PM
Tested the Rem870SM  JH .665 this morning:

Win HV 3/ 1 3/4/ 6's              118 in a 10 @ 40

Win HV 3.5/ 2/ 6's                 105 in a 10 @ 40

Win (Grey Box) 3/ 1 7/8/ 6's   98 in a 10 @ 40

*shot incredible patterns with Hevi 3/2/6's and Hevi 3.5/2.25/6's but the POA/POI went off so far i would have to put a red dot or sights on the gun.  Think im gonna save the money and run the 118 @ 40 with double beads. A little old school :icon_thumright:

Those are really good numbers!  I just shot my 870 SM 23" bbl today with Winchester HV 3.5" #6 and a Jellyhead .660 and got 84 in the ten.  It was 65 degrees, but about 30-40 mph winds........gonna try again on a calmer day before I write off the choke/load combo I used today.

Yea i was thinking the .665 might be a bit too open of a choke for the lead but it really sang with the HV  3/ 1 3/4  /6's.  The Hevi loads were amazing patterns as well but thats more money to rig it out with sights or red dot. I have a Tasco Pro Point and ordered a B square saddle for the gun but im thinking i will put that on another Rem 870 and shoot the lead stuff out of the Rem 870SM.

I'll try running the HV shells through my Kicks .665 too just to see what it will give me.  Maybe my 870 will
do better with it.
