Title: Alabama boys.....
Post by: Rio on February 15, 2012, 03:24:05 PM
Looking at an invite in the Tuscaloosa area this spring. I know yall's season opens March 15th (ish)...would that be a good time to go, or should I wait until later in the season?
When would you say is 'primetime'??

They're usually talking good and you can usually kill couple then but the best hunting normally mid april. But this year looking like a early spring so we'll see.

I live in north Al and the season opens two weeks earlier down there ,I'll be there regardless. I hunt public land last year was the first year I didnt give one a ride home opening day.

About  mid-April is the best for me, but I live closer to the Tenn. State line.

1st or second week of April is when they tend to go nuts. Depends on the area, pressure, etc though. They're killable all season, but this seems to be the peak time when hens start nesting leaving lonely gobblers...
