I've been shooting a .660 rhino in an 870 SM for several years with hevi shot 7s. I'm gettin around 250 in 10" at 40. But all the talk bout the .660 JH has got me to thinkin bout tryin one. Wondering if it would be enough difference to justify the cost. ( money's TIGHT!!!) What y'all think? :help:
If I was getting 250+, I wouldn't be worried about buying more anything except a few boxes of those shells!

I would be shocked if there was much difference between them.
Every gun is different and every choke is different as well. Heck, one of my 870s likes a JH665 over a JH660 while one of my other 870s is the exact opposite. I have two JH665s and two JH660s for remchoke guns and some guns may shoot one of the 660s better than the other 660 vice versa of the same make choke. Confused yet?
In your shoes, I'd probably stick with the Rhino. I have a Rhino 660 in my 1187SM and it slightly edges out the JH660s in the same gun. I don't feel there will be enough of a difference in your case to make the swap. It could be slightly better or it could be slightly worse. I don't feel you'll see enough of a difference to matter.
Being that you already run a Rhino 660, if I was going to try anything at all it would be a JH665 just to see what a slightly more open choke did. I'll let you test one of my JH665s if you would like, just shoot me a pm.
If you try and like the JH better, you can sell the rhino here
