Just curious how many days everyone hunts during the Spring Gobbler season.
On average I spend 25 days chasing birds each spring. Mostly hunting in Pennsylvania. I average about 12 birds in range each year (within 30 yards) and my best season I called in 18 birds, never fired a shot though, kept waiting for a bigger one.
I start scouting early April and am out almost every day. Last year located 130 different Toms before the season.
Our season is month ,I hunt at best 8 days but this year I'm retired trying to set a record .maybe 20
about 16 days
Every Fri, Sat, and Sunday of the season.
Around 20 if I do the 3 states.
15
Every other weekend. 8)

about 45, not counting bad weather. :icon_thumright:
Unless I tag one, all day saturday, sometimes sunday afternoon then every afternoon unless I have to work late or have some other obligation.
Probably 35 times out of 45 days. I have the perfect wife. :z-guntootsmiley:
I average around 10-15 days a season here in Alabama. I might be limited some this year because my wife is pregnant, and she has been having some difficulties.
Shane
I have 8 or 10 tags, so I hunt 10 or 11 days, well thats the plan. Including hunts with friends and family I probably get to hunt at least part of 25 to 30 days.
I hunt my home state of CT and rent a camp in NY for a month. A total of 35 possible days to hunt. I average about 26, if my body holds up.
plus or minus 30 days....
31 days straight if I dont tag out earlyer.
Between myself, and helping out friends probably around 40ish.
two weeks in ohio then every day of pa there a ton of kids that want to go out before school my personal time in the woods is limited
I spend about 30 days in the woods each spring in South Alabama and Middle Tennessee. Most of the first half of the season I am guiding other hunters and usually do most of my hunting later in the season.Turkeys may have been pressured , but the hens are nesting and I seem to have more luck later in the season and also when hunting alone.
once or twice ;)
I'm just a weekend warrior who hopes to kill just one turkey each year...... :help:
As many as my job will allow. :gobble:

We have a month here in NY, but with work it's mostly weekends since we have to quit by noon. We take a few days off at the beginning of the season, so maybe 10-12 total if we don't tag out early.
7 or 8 maybe.
It's usually over pretty quick here in OK since I only get three birds. Maybe a max of 10 days
I average about 50 days. I hunt in several states.
between 15-25
10-15

i hunt till the tags are filled here in pa. and n.y. plus my nephews bird.?how do you keep passing up your birds to get a bigger one.are you after bigger spurs or beards??? :fire:
at least 30 days! I hunt every morning here in Va unless its raining then go to work to catch up on the days i missed!
Doug
30 or so.
During turkey season I only have two outfits, scrubs and hunting clothes. In short, about 30-35 days.
Around 20 days, plus a couple afternoons during the week. I have several farms close by to hunt so I'm able to get out and hunt quite often.
It varies widely year-to-year, but this year I've blocked off 22 days to hunt 4 states. We'll see if that actually pans out...
About 8 or 9 days in NC only. Going to add a couple of days in FL next year.
28 or so
17-20 for me. I'm in hopes to hunt VT, so if I'm lucky, I can get a few more days.
I'll hunt about 22 with another 15+ days of guiding.
Not nearly enough days spent in the woods
Usually 65-70 ish.... Not enough I know that!
One full week and than as many days as I can maybe 5- 8 more
I normally hunt every Saturday and Sunday during the month long season. I will usually get out at least 3 times during the weekday depending on what I have going on at work. I guess a total of around 20 days. I'm real excited in PA this year as we can hunt until dark the second half of the season.
At least 22 days out of the 31. I dont go in howling winds or if its raining cats and dogs.
from opening day till closing day ,or until i get two gobblers ..........which ever comes first..
15-20.
Kevin
I take 3 day's and the weekend,a few times in the spring till i get my fill.around 12 to 15 day's for me.
Not near as much the last few years, but still enough to get the job done
The last few years, right around 15
20-25 on average. Wish I could hunt everyday of the season :z-guntootsmiley:
Don't know. I never counted.
TRKYHTR
Probably around 8-12 days. If I am done early I still go to call and help friends and family.
I used to hunt 28 days, now that I am working another job i'll only be able to hunt weekends and maybe a day or two thrown in there.
Somewhere around 25 days. Our season is 1 month long so I try to make the most of it.
Around 40 on average the most I've hunted was in '09 56 days killed 9 birds and watched 12 more die. Between going for myself and taking people out it fill up my spring.
I should get in around 25 or better.
I hunt every morning until all my tags are filled, all of my friends tags, and my girlfriends tags are filled.
Depends on how my hunts are going. :icon_thumright:
Probably around 20. I'm a turkeyholic.
Always try to hunt everyday of our 6 week season, but never quite make it... should get in 30+ days of hunting this year plus another 10 - 14 of early morning listening before it opens.
4 days first season then about 15 days 4th season
Around 25 days.
15-20 normally....hoping for more this year. I'm taking off two weeks to go back to my home state of VA. I'll be there for the first and second week of the season. Then heading back to WV for my first season here. So I'm hoping to up the days out in the field. There's nothing like being in the woods in the spring and watching everything come alive. Lord knows I don't deserve it but he keeps blessing me with it year after year.
Probably 30 some, last year was 33. However long it takes to burn the tags. :z-guntootsmiley:
Im so busy I am a lucky to get out a morning a year ;D
i hunt from beginning of april to middle of april out west, and then the whole month of may in michigan, any minute or day possible i will be out in the woods! Can't wait!
I may be able to get out and hunt a day or 92 this season. God bless.
I get out about 10-12 days in during the spring. I go every Saturday and Sunday and try to get out as many mornings as I can during the week.
TN season is approx 45 days, i would say i hunt approx 30 of those days...every weekend and most weekdays before work.
The older I get the more I go. I'd like to get 18-20 days in during our season which is only in the spring in NC.
i average about 20 days between calling for my uncle ,my son , my wife, and the i try to fill my tags las, good luck to everyone :z-guntootsmiley:
I hunt between 20-30 with myself and the kids.
25-35
Prob about 10-12 days, if I hunt the 2 states. Maybe a few more if I sneak to Indiana as a 3rd state.
as MANY as I can!! :you_rock: I typically hunt every weekend plus one full week as I tend to get turkey fever in April every single year. Makes me have to use up some of my vacation time :TooFunny:
AS many as I can and not enough.
Probably around 30 all together.
around 15 for me. wish it could be more, but hunting turkeys full time wont pay the rent :biggringift:
10-12 days probably PA&NY
in 3 seasons of hunting NY Ive hunted 11 days to fill all 6 tags, PA is a little harder
In three states,Pa.NY.NJ. It might be anyware between 10 to 15 days.
C'mon Spring ;D
Everytime I walk out my back door!! :z-guntootsmiley:
Physically 6-8, mentally every day nof the season!
20-25 days and 4 states this year.
Depending on how soon I kill, I've had a few one morning seasons. One season lasted five minutes!
This year I'll hunt three states and, with the vacation I have scheduled, and if needed, can probably squeeze in 17-18 days in April.
