Title: NEED HELP FINDING A GUNSMITH
Post by: GOLD HUNTER on February 17, 2011, 08:19:34 PM
Guys I need help finding a gunsmith.  I have a good friend who lives in Glouchester, VA.  He invites me there every spring to hunt with him.  He called me today to see if I had began my spring scounting yet.  Our conversation led to the real deal that he got today.  He purchased an older model S&W 1000 12 gauge automatic for $250.00.  Its in A1 condition.  He wants to have some work done and he needs to find a good gunsmith.  He wants to have the barrel cut down and have it fitted for a turkey choke and have it dipped.  It will also need to be drilled and tapped for a scope.  He doesn't mind paying to have the work done but he wants it done right the 1st time.  Does anyone know a good gunsmith and can all this be done at 1 place?  If you know of someone who can do this please help me to help my friend.  We want the best.

Thanks,
Brian

Curtis does some fine gun work at very reasonable prices. I don't believe he does any dipping though.

Another vote for Rob Roberts. Not sure if he does camo dipping though.
