Title: which one to buy ????????

would you buy a new 20gauge 1187 or a new 12gauge 870 super mag....
can get both for the same price within a few dollars.....

been killn birds with 2 3/4 rem. 1100 20gauge and wanted to extend
range and killn power by shootn 3 inch shells out of both new guns of choice ???

thanks for any directions in which way to go...thanks russ

Buy'em both.

If I didn't have a 12 gauge, I'd go with the 870. If I already had a 12, I'd buy the 11-87. I wish I could tumble into a 1187 youth 20.

Either of those guns can get the job done, properly choked and with the right shells. I shoot both and would not hesitate to go to the turkey woods with either.

To me, based upon my experience, I'd just make sure that I had a 26" barrel (or longer) on either gun and of course I'd deep clean the bore before patterning it.
