Title: Newbie Question
Post by: haggard1 on October 16, 2011, 08:17:12 AM
I shot my first turkey yesterday with archery tackle. Hit her solid in the side at 15 yards and expected her to run a few yards and fall over. Instead, she disappeared. I spend the next 5 hours zig zagging through the woods trying to locate her. Is there any particular pattern they follow when this happens? Do they go straight, circle, no pattern... what?

Thanks.

They usually go to the first place they can hide. Like under some brush or a log. Look for places that are thick where they can crawl into. This has happened to me a few times and every one that I found went straight for the first place they could hide. Good luck,

She hid good.... I looked under and inside everything I could find. Thanks for the tip.
