I was out at my hunting place this morning to watch the sunrise and listen for birds.
The first place I stopped had one gobbling about 200 yards away and he was feeling it this morning! He was double gobbling on his own, loud and often. I stayed there about 10 minutes to see if any others woke up nearby and he never stopped.
I saw two longbeards courting a hen and heard three others gobbling so it was a good morning. I stopped by the range and verified sight in on my shotgun and put some deer minerals out before heading home to grab my grandson for fishing.
Got a little sunburned on my face when I at a bite and forgot to pull my mask back up.
I'm worn out but it was a good day.
Our season doesn't open until April 22, that poor Tom may have no voice by then. :funnyturkey:
Good luck David!! :icon_thumright:
I would suspect a morning like that would make you somewhat optimistic about the upcoming season. ;D
Sounds like a really good morning to me
Nothing better than hearing those first spring gobblers
Hope you nail him
Just the opposite my good man. He will be worn down and will not be on alert coming in. You should make it sporting and use a slingshot ot a blowgun, lol. Good luck man Z :funnyturkey: :funnyturkey:
