Im curious who you think makes the best box call south of the mason dixon? Makers name and location...just for fun

I'm a Lamar Williams(FL) and Darrin Dawkins(SC) guy but Steve Mann(SC) and Albert Paul(MS) make great ones too. I'm sure I'm forgetting someone but those are the first ones that popped into my head.

All great ones war eagle but I will add Richard Hudson from Ark. he makes a great hen box!

I've have or had a call from all mentioned above except for Wendell Lancaster.  Most likely the best sounding was an older (1992) box of Lamar's. Best bang for your buck (sound/cost) would be Albert Paul.

The last true Outlier, Lamar Williams, the finest turkey callmaker in the country.  You asked about the best, he's the best

I think Lamar Williams, Steve Mann and Albert Paul are the classic 3 from the Neil Cost crew.  I have boxes from all of them and would be proud to carry any one of them into the woods.  Bob Harwell also makes another one of my favorite boxes.

I have that same box, it was my go to box last yr.  This yr I think it's going to be one of his macassar over black limba.

Too many greats to pick a best in the south. All the ones mentioned are superb. An embarrassment of riches down south.
