Title: Guns, ammo, calls, gear
Post by: Zobo on March 03, 2026, 11:17:11 AM
I like to have a thread devoted to the gear you're planning on using and why. Any significant information or stories about guns, new or lucky calls, vests, sights, chokes, etc.

No changes for this year. I have the tools. I just need time and turkeys

I did modify my old tom vest again. I really like it now and it's super lightweight(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20260305/841a13516b1fdff7c7e62b99905740ad.jpg)

I'll be using pretty much all the same gear as the previous seasons.
Remington 870 20ga, TSS 9's
Alps Grandslam vest
Zamberlan boots and TurtleSkin gaiters

I usually rotate between a few different trumpets, I've been using a Pinhoti diaphragm called the last couple years, and I'll rotate through a couple different pot calls. I usually have a Harrison hooter and a crow call made by Daryl on the forum here.

I think that's my basic gear set up. Sometimes I will use my bicycle for certain spots. I also camp out in my truck sometimes.  I'm pretty much hunting local WMA's.
