Title: Haven’t bought TSS in awhile
Post by: Mossyguy on February 28, 2026, 06:02:41 PM
And it looks like I'm not going to for awhile either..these prices are CRAZY. I bought 4 boxes of Migra copper plated/tungsten mix for $38 each.

I love the Apex because of their pattern density but I haven't shot one past 30 yards in years so Migra it is.

yup, i think the ammo manufacturers are really taking advantage of the tss rage.
they have to be making a killing charging $15 -$20 per shell.

Tungsten pellets are roughly $100+ per pound right now and aren't cheap to ship.  So a 2oz load has about $12.50 of tungsten in it before you add a shot shell, primer, wadding, buffer, and box.  Then you have overhead costs.

It wasn't but a few years back, that same pound on 18g #9 shot could be found for $40.  Could be worse, i've seen it at $130 a pound.  Thankfully, I bought plenty a while back.

While they likely getting it a tad cheaper you are correct

However the are likely working off of old stock but raised the price as the market prices changed. Therefore, for now until they need more shipments of TSS they probably killing it.
