Title: Anybody?
Post by: Gooserbat on February 18, 2026, 10:18:52 PM
Anyone got a good spot to hunt in Ohio and maya neighboring state or two?  As a traveling hunter seeking the 49 I'm all about rolling in and killing a bird for the  repertoire.

Just post in a couple Facebook groups and all the other traveling hunters will dump off all the other pins they found for you!

No irons in the fire with this one anymore Sam. I did hunt deer in Hocking co for a number of years. The Wayne national Forrest. I never ever saw or heard one in that part. I hope that narrows it down at least.
Good luck in your search.

I can't understand it. If I scout an area and find a bunch of birds I'm saving all those pins for next year. Not passing along to people I've never met. Why put all that extra pressure on the turkeys!  I've seen it happen first hand some guy literally shared like 15 pins to another group of guys. Come on man! Sorry I know we're beating the dead horse here.

Just to clear it up, this post is a rise just to get people to understand how not to act.  I'm glad for the most part people caught on.  Now go keep your stuff to yourself.

I was gonna say, there are no turkeys in Ohio. They've all been eaten, along with the dogs and cats. To tell the truth, I've been feeling a little uncomfortable lately, and have been trying to avoid wearing anything that might come across as appetizing.

I have seen Facebook absolutely wreck areas first hand. Some yahoo has to brag about hearing x amount of gobblers in such and such spot and the next thing you know the area is flooded. I just don't understand this need for attention that supposedly grown men absolutely have to have these days. I mean, I play the charismatic, look at me type on OG. But in real life and in my turkey hunting, I preference to lay low.

Yeah, it just floors me how someone will ask a question on FB as to where to go hunting here in my state and someone will just tell them exactly where to go. Of course, sometimes it is to throw somebody off track, but often enough, someone is giving out genuine information. When I see those guys doing that, I just say to myself..."You obviously haven't been turkey hunting long enough to know better...".
