Title: Go-to Crow call for shock gobbles?
Post by: CG1997 on February 09, 2026, 11:33:27 AM
What's your go-to for crow calls? I'm struggling picking up on how to use an owl hooter effectively but can blow a crow call just fine so I'm looking for a good one to add to my arsenal until I can master the hooter lol

Oddly enough even with my customs, I always end up carrying a HS Hammering Crow. It's an excellent production call.

Ralph Snodgrass makes one awesome crow call from a 50 caliber shell case ...

Very unique ... I just got one of these ...

Chad also makes a good one ... I have one of his in Osage

I use a Daryal Gosey crow call that has a bamboo insert along with an old Lehman wooden caller. I tried searching for the Gosey call on line but it appears he doesn't make them any longer. The Lehman I e had since the early 90's and actually hurts your ears when I use it. I get good responses from both calls.

I've been carrying the same two for a very long time, I'd be lost without them. A Gibson walnut and a Haydel triple tone.

I've thought his look good he's putting out enough calls I know he knows what he's doing. Also a very reasonable price

I've had an old OLT for years, that doesn't have a lot of volume.  I do carry an old Lohman.  I've never had much luck with either of them.

I have an old Knight and Hale Shock Gobler Owl caller or mornings or after dark to pinpoint them.

Daytime:  I use an air horn.

Don't carry one 99% of the time.

But, a Primos Power Crow has what it takes.

I have a burned Osage crow call from James Harrison when he was with Hooks, it is fantastic. Small call maker called Bama Boy Calls makes a good one too for cheap.
