Title: How hard is it?
Post by: misfire on February 03, 2026, 08:10:55 AM
Many of you may have not seen or held one of my calls, but I put a certain bible verse on every one of them. That verse? Romans 10:13- for whosever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. That verse was read to me July 13, 1984, the day I truly accepted Jesus as my Lord and savior. I was at a show this past weekend in Florida and a young mother asked me "Why that verse?". So I responded with the actual verse. But thinking back on it, I should have given a little longer response. And that response should have been, "Because it is just THAT EASY to get saved". So many people want to make it much harder than it really is. It truly is that simple to receive a gift that there is no way that you or I could ever earn. For all fall short of the glory of God. It is in our nature to put hurdles in our own way, when it is just that simple. God doesnt want us to perish without knowing Him, that is not why He created us. He created us to have a personal relationship with him, and when sin entered our world, He gave us a gift (A gift or present is an item given to someone (who is not already the owner) without the expectation of payment or anything in return). Jesus endured a painful and humiliating death on the cross as a "gift" to us from God. And all we have to do is ask for it. It is THAT easy!!!!!

good stuff, I was at the Florida show also and enjoyed talking with you (even if my kid always tries to lowball you out of a trumpet). The first time I met you several years back we had some good conversation about trumpets and the gospel so ive always looked for you at any show I happen to be at

When people or some churches make salvation complicated, I sometimes think of the thief on the cross next to Jesus.

There was no time for good works or baptism, he believed and said remember me Lord, and Jesus said today you will be with me in paradise
