what's everyone gonna carry this year....anything new or just the same ol tried and true?
Not much of a vest guy anymore. Rely on the kangaroo pocket of the NM leafy 1/4 zip and cargo pockets on my pants. Still fine tuning what I call the "gun slinger" turkey belt though....

I did add a sweet Permar 1920 trumpet in osage and amber this fall....so that will be going along.
Cody Spec 1 legend slate
Lonzo carbon fiber crystal
SS kwilla/b-nut box
Permar/KP trumpet
Hamon tube
No vest here, either. But, little changes from year to year. May switch up which box I carry occasionally. But, my Marlin macassar/wormy persimmon is darned hard to leave at home. Couple Gooserbat diaphragms..... a slate (Lonzo, Redbeard or one I made)...and pick a trumpet.
Pretty tidy little package.

It seems like a lot when I write it out, but I don't feel like it is when it's loaded.
I wear a vest. I like to stay organized and not have to worry about dropping something f as I get up or move. I hunt private and public so just depends on where I am and how long I am going to be from the truck if I carry out of the ordinary items, but 98% of the time these are the items I will have:
- two trumpets from two different builders
- a box call from Richard Hudson or Wendell Lancaster
- a Crystal Screamer and Southland Slate Pot call
- 2-3 Harold Fowler Strikers
- crow call
- conditioning pads/chalk
- gloves and mask with a back up for both
- pair of hand snips
- turkey totes
- extra shells
- thermocell with extra pads and cartridges
- optic
- chapstick
- knee pad thing for gun
- grocery bag
- range finder
- photo accessories
- toilet paper or wipes
- big bottle of water

I've gotten where I stick a slate call in the pocket of my leafy pullover with gloves and face mask and a yelper around my neck. And I carry a gobble lounger style chair

for me all depends on where im hunting or if only a quick hunt or all morning i may just run my chest rig with a schaffer or buster pot with a couple jlh...binos and few mouth yelpers or load down my m2 vest with entirely way too many strikers and pots of schaffer buster jlh and a do ral or two...and always my 870 with tss 9s....anyways good luck this upcoming season everyone!

Newest, it will be a bone call I made at the end of last year. I'm excited to try it out, I went three bones this time, the one I made in the late 80's early 90's only has two bones, but it has done a fairly good job with bringing some in to the gun.
"I have more calls in my vest/satchel," said no turkey hunter ever.
