Here's a link that some may find interesting about Mike, https://nchuntandfish.com/forums/index.php?threads/r-i-p-mike-battey.89992/
He will be missed by many. R.I.P. Mike.
I would have loved to own one of Mike's Original Battey Slates. I have Primos version, Ol Betsy, and it has brought many a Gobbler to the end of the gun barrel.
Rest in peace Mike, Gods speed...
He was a wealth of knowledge and will be missed. A man that dedicated himself to turkeys

Deepest condolences to his Family and Friends :cross2: Mike was another integral and pioneering individual of the Turkey Hunting Community -- this spring ....when the spring mornings sun rises and the birds start sounding off , ill do some deep reflection and Mr Mike will be in my thoughts and Prayers again --
Mike was a great fella. He was instrumental in my growing passion for chasing those wily critters when I was in high school. He was getting going with designing pots for Primos/K&H/etc and gifted me a prototype and then a signed Alumislate. Man, I thought I was big stuff. I went out to where he was recording his Spittin'Feathers CDs and he played me what he'd recorded that morning. I was in awe & just soaked it all in. He just poured gas on the Turkey Fire inside me and it's only grown. We lost touch for a couple decades but we reconnected a couple years ago before I got married and talked for 45 minutes about those old times in the Lowcountry of SC many years before...it was like no time had passed. I'll never forget him and have a few calls in my vest that will most certainly remind me of him each spring. Prayers for his family and many thanks for the impact he left on me.
Sad to hear, prayers for his family
And now Mr. Billy Buice has left this world as well.
Two monumental members of the turkey call community lost in the same week is rough.
Wow to of the best in the same week
God rest your soul .
My condolences to the families.🙏
