Just finishing up my 28 gauge CZ Bobwhite. I installed a Grove Tec sling swivel kit today. I made an rmr mount, drilled and tapped my rib, and installed a Holosun 407. Ended up vinyl wrapping it with OG bottomland. The gun shoots good, POI is spot on. I'm using a .515 Trulock in the left barrel and a modified Trulock in the right, both extended versions. I'm shooting Fiochii TSS 1 1/16 ounce 9's. 178 pellets in a 10" circle at 40 yards. My short barrel shot a nice even 16" round pattern at 30 yards. I may try some 1 3/8 9.5 Apex in my long barrel to see if I can improve my numbers at 40 but completely happy with what I have. I would like to thank some of the members of this site for shortening my side x side learning curve. Especially Crow and Doc Holliday. If I can figure it out I'll try to post pics. Thank you
Would love to see it. PM'd you some info if needed.

I also muskie fish and made my own rod holders. I have pieces of 3/16" and 1/4" aluminum flat bar left over from that. I just cut the flat bar to fit my RMR reflex sight. Not sure if it was right or wrong but I drilled 3 #6-48 holes into my rib for added strength. I thought about filing a groove the width of my rib down the middle of the mount but decided not to. Seems to be good and solid. I own a drill press, combination sander, and a set of calipers and like to piddle with what I can. Thank you for the kind comments
Looks real nice, good luck with it this spring.

I have a 28 gauge bobwhite as well. They are fun guns. I had mine drill and tapped for a Skinner peep, but may swap it out for a red dot. I also had the center rib drilled and tapped for a sling stud, although the thin rib metal makes me nervous.
I am shooting the Trulock .515 also, with the 1-3/8oz tss load that is posted on Hodgdon's load data center. I am using the factory full choke with Fiochi's 1-1/16 oz. Load of lead #7.5 shot in the right barrel for close shots. It patterns very well to 25 yards. POA/POI is good on both barrels. The handload with tss is in a 2-3/4" shell and the lead Fiochi shell is a 3", which makes it easy to get proper shells in each barrel in the dark.
I haven't killed a gobbler with it yet, but will be fall hunting soon.

I also picked up a JP Sauer SL5 pistol grip. Getting ready to send it off to get hydro dipped. It was pretty easy to set up. Unscrewed the IC out of my SBE II and put it on my Sauer, added a Holosun 407 and the 40 yard results were devastating lol. Way to tight for close shots. For me anyway lol. It is also a fantastic gun for the money. Thank you
