Title: Any duck hunters here?
Post by: zelmo1 on May 20, 2025, 07:47:36 AM
If you are a duck hunter, OG ( Shannon ) makes the best duck whistles going as well. My wife got me the pintail and wigeon calls and they actually sound better than real ducks, lol. Check out his facebook and there are many tutorials. Easy to use and deadly. I onle see a few of those a year and it is worth it to have the calls for me. If I had them all the time, I would make sure my friends had them too. Just check them out, I know it gets boring after turkey season and buying calls always helps me cope.  :turkey2:   Z

Good call here. I've had them in my arsenal for a while now. Kept them a secret for a while but eventually the word got out.
Both are awesome you won't be disappointed.

I have several of Shannon's calls. IMO - you can't be serious about chasing whistlers without them

Here's some public land whistlers taken with the help of Shannon's calls. It's the round black call there on the lanyard. He was kind enough to meet us on our ride down to get the call and give us a good tutorial on how to use it. We must have sounded halfway decent

Cool looking birds and the decoy is crazy cool.

Is that a commercial decoy or did you fabricate/paint that yourself?

That is a foam body made by Homer and the head is a wooden head that I bought from Autumn wings. I did the restle coating/flocking/airbrushing on it. I am by no means a decoy painting expert, but I can usually get them plenty good enough to make birds take a look.

Those foam decoys literally last forever. I haven't duck hunted over anything plastic in years

Interesting and quite impressive IMHO.

A couple minutes research and that looks like an interesting rabbit hole to go down. Could be financially dangerous though  :TooFunny:

Nice fulvous patternfreak. I don't have one of those yet, but they're on my list  :you_rock:

Is there anywhere besides FB to see these calls? I wouldn't mind checking them out.

The species specific duck calls has really taken off for me -  I am incredibly busy , and gratefull for the success of them

I have several call projects/designs  in the works right now ...hush hush lol

The fulvous.... guys be EXTREMELY cautious of so called "guides " in Florida...turkeys and ducks , there are some serious loosers out there operating ,a few  good ones and some idiots in the mix ...be cautious

A while ago I was looking for someone to make me a Bluewing Teal call out of some wood that was special to me. Couldn't find anyone making a BWT call.

Shannon, is a possible Push-pin duck call in the design phase? Would be deadly for sure!
