Title: Boot care products
Post by: btomlin on May 17, 2025, 09:58:05 AM
I normally use Obenauf's LP on my leather gore-tex boots.

Last day of season is tomorrow so I will be done tagging along with buddies and ready for end of season maintenance.

No complaints with the O-LP.  I was just curious what everyone uses on their boots.   I will be working on a set of Lowa Renegades and Danner Grouse.

For my Russell turkey hunters, I wash outside of mine with saddle soap and let dry and store. Every couple years I'll put a light coat of Lp

For the Lowa renegades(split leather) I used the nikwax 2 bottle cleaner/waterproofer stuff.  I've used obenauffs lp on a bunch of boots too.

For all leather boots I have always used saddle soap for cleaning and Sno Seal for waterproofing and conditioning.

I worked outdoors for 40+ years and that combination has always served me well.

Saddle soap to clean, mink oil to preserve.
