Title: Winchester SXP Turkey Build
Post by: War Eagle on April 18, 2025, 09:19:44 PM
Was given a 12ga Winchester SXP 28" that I don't need at all, but who turns down a free gun. I've had it sitting in the safe gathering dust for several years now but thinking about having the barrel cut down, camo dipped, and drilled for a red dot. Is this worth fooling with or should I just buy a dedicated turkey gun?

Thats tough. By the time you pay for all those modifications you might be better off just buying a gun that already suits your style. Camo, short barrel, drilled and tapped.

Worth noting , if you cut the barrel you probably won't be able to re choke invector plus. You're more likely to end up with tru choke threads

Thanks for answering and yeah that's kind of the way I'm leaning with just buying one that's ready to roll. I guess I still have no idea what I'm going to do with this thing haha.
