Any tips on running one? I got one the other day, but I can't get the right sound to me anyway lol
I just run it straight through, no curves

Very cool, wonder if he still makes/sells them?
I learned off the same video that's posted. They sound a little better as the slate gets worn in. IMO a nail call's clucks and purrs are excellent, but the yelps are only fair. I hate practicing them indoors because they have such a piercing pitch, but I know there are some birds that like that. I have one in my arsenal this year. But, if it doesn't start getting results, I may move on to other calls in the future.

As far as I know.
I purchased one from Greg Newcombe out of Oklahoma. It is finicky but when I get the nail straight up and rolling it sounds sweet. The yelp is supposed to be more of a nasally type walking yelp. But it will get loud if needed.
