Looking at getting away from a vest this year. I ordered a minimalist satchel and I'm looking for a seat to pair with it. What is everyone using? I like the idea of a low to the ground folding chair. Most I've seen are all about 7-10 pounds so I'm considering this one from Cabelas. Anyone else have experience with it or recommend a similar style chair? TIA

Never heard of them, but just checked it out. Do they have any dealers or locations to try it out? Seems like a light option, but at $225 for a chair I would definitely need to try it out first. Most others I saw online were $39-99.
I don't know of any dealers but I'm sure if you call them they can help you out. I have both chairs and love them both. Very light... very sturdy... well made stuff. And I believe they have a lifetime warranty. I went through several chairs only to have them fail.... that's why I went with these.

I have the Bass pro model like the one you are looking at from Cabelas and I really like it! I have two others that stay home after I got it!
I'm 250+ pounds and use a Browning model. Had a Cabela's but didn't hold up. Browning chair is well made and has held up multiple seasons.

I have 2 of these and an Alps that I purchased years ago when they were this price and both of them have held up well. I am 225 lbs. and both are comfortable, but the Alps chair is about twice the price of the Mossy Oak chair now. Some of local Wally stores have them in stock but some don't so check the stores online, close to you, to see who has them. I don't run and gun to much now, so comfort is a Top priority for me.

I have a Bass Pro Gobbler Lounger (not long after they came out I think). I've had it since 2007. It weighs in the 6.5 lb range. It's seen a ton of miles. I recently purchased a new chair from Rogers that weighs close to the same as a back up because my original chair can't last forever.
My buddy has this chair you mentioned. It's good. I think his has broke a time or two but nothing he couldn't fix.
I'm still waiting on a ultra light chair that looks similar to these but they haven't hit the market. I also can't bring myself to the Glenda Green seat. I feel like that is a great option for my morning hunts. But my afternoon hunts are mostly sitting and calling (not all the time but seems it happens more frequently) and I just think the chair would be incredibly hard to beat for that situation.
Here's one less than 2 lbs. that my friend just got and said it is very comfortable. You have to put the seat on the frame to setup, but very simple after you do it a few times.

Got some barronett branded chairs last week and used them this past weekend on youth weekend. Extremely comfortable. Only going to use them when I'm planning on some long sits and not run-n-gun style.
Years ago I took a seat I had,4 legs and black webbing bottom...about 4-5" off the ground, had no back.Made out of alluminum and very light. I had a dove stool with a back to it....to the back off and attached it to the back of this seat, put some straps on each side that you could adjust the back to your liking, attached a carry strap....weighs around 5 lbs. I put rubber caps on each leg to keep it from digging down into soft ground....been using it for years and cannot believe no one has put one on the market like it....I know it would sell.

I also have the Browning model. Built like iron, will last for sure
I use the Cabelas lounger, it's is very comfortable and has held up well.. the strap hook broke, but was an easy fix.

I whole heartedly agree. I have the very first "turkey" seat he made. It's by far the best seat I've ever used for hunting. It's super light and extremely comfortable. I would buy another tomorrow if something happens to this one.
