Just wondering what everyone prefers and uses for your trumpet lip stops:
1) large diameter or small diameter
2) rounded or flat top against your lips
3) foam, cork, or rubber material
I prefer rounded/convex lip stops made from harder materials
Thanks. I never gave it a lot of thought, always used what the maker supplied with a new trumpet. But so much also depends on the lip stop positioning. Was just curious about others thoughts on the subject.
I prefer a small, rounded, rubber material.

While EVA foam seems to be the go-to choice(and for good reason), I tend to prefer a hard rubber or wood lipstop. slightly convex medium size is what suits me best. I actually like no lipstop, but having one does help make those first, early morning soft calls.
I have a cane/wingbone Jordans with cork, an Ezolt wingbone with a very small rubber lip stop, and of course turned trumpets using EVA type lip stops.
I have no particular preference. I do think the Jordans have a classic look when sporting the cork.
Thank you for the replies. I prefer the rounded cork as it just feels right for me.

For me anything that positions my lips in the proper place is good. If I had to choose one it would be rubber, small and rounded.

This ^^^^. I have even used rubber plumbing washers for some of the wing bones I have made, and they work fine.
