Title: Rem 870 compact jr 18.75 barrel
Post by: Tannersmith96 on February 01, 2025, 11:23:08 AM
Has anyone tried one of the 870 compact jr with the 18.75 barrel? Recently acquired 2 and I plan on building one for myself and building the other to donate or pass along to an eager youngin. I currently have a 21" 870 20 ha I built but the shorter barrel appeals to me. Would love feedback on thoughts or experience

You'll be fine. The difference in barrel length isn't a problem. They just tend to have a bit more recoil and being the barrel is shorter closer to the shooter the sound of the shot is a good bit louder.

I have one. I remember a few years ago preferring my 26" barrel but plan to try it again before season.

I have built, own, and hunted with several of those little killers. I love them. I've found that they do great with a Carlson .568 and Apex #9.

Nice little gun.  I have one set up with a Leupold RDS, JEBs .555 and Boss 2oz 9s.  Shoots great.
