Went to a semi local gun shop today and stopped to take a look at the turkey calls and they had the new Knight and Hale pushpin. I couldn't help myself and bought it. Had they had pot calls I'd have gotten them too. But this pushpin is the best sounding production pushpin I've ever played and I've messed with several. I prefer it to my loftis, and winky call. It's not the OG pushpin but for 28$ the build and sound is better than ones I have for double the money. Figured I'd let yall know. I'm looking forward to the new pots.

It looks good, they have always knew how to make a good one! Thanks for sharing!
Great find!
I found one today, great production caller!
I got one as well, and one of the new Ol' Yellers...USA made and made well. Great calls

I haven't seen any of the pot calls around here yet. I'd like an Ol Yeller myself

I bought one today just to check it out. I have a Witchy Woman and that is a very good production call, so I'm hoping this is as well.

How does it compare to the witchy woman

K&H used to make one called "fighting purrs". A black synthetic type push pin. Dad grabbed one from the flea market back in the day.
+1 on the new K&H pushpin. I also bought it and the new Ol Yeller. The pushpin definitely oozes a few feathers and the pot is great too.

Please excuse my tardiness in not getting a response to you sooner but it was turkey season!
Both are very good calls in the hands of somebody that is proficient using a push pin call. IMO the Witchy Woman is better. A little more went into the making of the Witchy Woman vs the HD Cutter and it shows. Are they both killers? Yes, they are, but I like the tones coming from the Witchy Woman better.
Ask me that same question down the road a few months from now once the HD Cutter as some wear on it and I might be more impressed.
What's the black material on the paddle?
It's grain in the wood, I have seen several and the woods all look different, which I think is a good thing!

I'm talking about the underside of the paddle that hits the striker, looks like tape or some type of plastic

I'm not sure what you're seeing but it must be the angle of the picture. There is no tape or plastic on these calls. I ended up letting a buddy from work who had never turkey hunted before borrow that call and he called in and killed his first turkey by himself with it. I gave him that call because it wouldn't have been right to take it back and I bought myself another one and it sounds and is built just as good. They hit a winner on this one

It's not a picture; it's my call that I bought. The black material is where I put chalk on my chatterbox. I'm moving and have packed up some of my calls. I'll try to find it and take a picture.

I know what you're saying now, I apologize for the misunderstanding on my end. I'm not sure that mine has the black stuff on it but my son has an older HS strut box call I gave him that has that on the under side of the paddle. You've got me curious now, I'll have to pull mine out and take a look when I get home.

It could be waterproof paint - the old name I think was called magic... I think a guy invented it and he sold it to Penn Woods ...
thanks it could be paint for sure
I just looked at mine and its black also, looks like it might not to have to be chalked! it grips really good!
