Title: Trumpet trade values
Post by: Jakeman on January 17, 2025, 01:50:53 PM
Just curious and looking to get answers.(I know the answers will be opinionated so be courteous please). What is equal value to a trotter, Dangerfield, cox, kp, lumma, Buice  and Prudhomme.

1000 + Cox, Buice, Prudhomme

350-600ish. Lumma, KP, Dangerfield, Trotter

That's what prices are about now.  Obviously depending a lot on the call itself.  Maybe more or less.

Personally, IMHO the Trotter would be the most valuable of the lot of the callmakers mentioned above...also, the most collectible. But then again, that's just my personal opinion....and what do I know?

I do agree with Mr Marvin that in years to come Charlie Trotter calls will become some of the most sought after calls around, already bring strong value in the secondhand market.  Cox calls are still consistently the highest fetching trumpets because of their lack of availability and the way ol Frank controls the market, they're steep now and will only get steeper.  Buice, Mercy....he defies the basic rules of economics.  Somebody told me years ago that there were so many made that they wouldn't keep going up in value, that was sure wrong.

Even though Buice made lots of calls, his will maintain their collectibility and value because of his character. Billy Buice is a really fine gentleman and makes a quality turkey call. His contributions and impact on the turkey hunting community are well-known. What's not to like.......

This seem pretty accurate now believe it or not. Some Lumma and Trotter calls are definitely in the top tier with Buice And Cox.

I agree with you on that as far as Steve's stuff goes. I have not had the pleasure to play anything from Charlie though but I'm sure it's awesome as well
