Looks like Paul Hicks is not making them anymore and Buster is cutting way back. Who are some of your favorite pot call makers? I'm looking for a ceramic but there will be more. Thank You!
Lonzo, Lon Trice
Does he have a website?
Thank You!!
Either Lon or Clay Townsend. Both are fantastic.
I think you'll find both on Facebook, Clay is on here from time to time.
I can spin you one. Depends what wood you'd like, but if you go into my Facebook or YouTube I have a bunch of soundfiles. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20241210/4b692ed324e50a14b97824c133c73d41.jpg)

I have 3 from Wendell Rye that are fantastic. He sells them on ebay, although I don't see any for sale right now.
Joe Mayeaux.
x 2 on Wendell Rye. I love this dogwood and ceramic he made. Anything by Lon Trice will be good too
How does one get in touch with Wendell?

Several good call makers. In my opinion do your research and decide what you want and like in sound / pitch. I think some call makers make better pots than others depending on the surface of the call you're looking for, so again look them up and listen to sound files etc... Good luck...

Corder ceramic is really awesome if you can get one
Can't believe no one has mentioned Sinclair calls. They are at the top of my list for looks and sound.
Cody. Whenever they decide to call you back!

Darrin Dawkins does make a great sounding pot call.I sure like mine.
Surprised I don't see Buster Halford. Awesome pots all the way around in any flavor

Buster Halford pots are hard to beat. I have numerous calls from him and the best of the bunch is his stoned aluminum in a blue mahoe pot. Pair that with a JLH heavy hickory striker and it is top shelf. I know he is not taking orders anymore but will have a booth at Unicoi. Lon Trice is up there with the best and so is Paul Durham. I have been happy with their calls. Many people base a good pot call on wait list time, but if you want a call that sounds as good as any on the market and that you can get your hands on rather quickly, Hanks Game Calls is a great option.
Buster Halford pots are excellent and his prices are also much more friendly to the wallet.
Clay Townsend makes excellent calls as well, along with Lon Trice and Brad Roberts.
Have a small tree call slate from Roger Parks that's pretty sweet as well.
There are plenty of other guys that make really nice pots, but the above guys happen to be my favorite pot makers.
Agreed with what has been posted. Would also add scooter pegg to this list
Brad Roberts
I would say John Sinclair, anything in cocobola, or walnut, great guy to talk to and his calls are top notch. Love the slate over copper.
Scooter Pegg makes a great glass over glass pot and also a killer titanium.
My advice with any of them: Matching the right striker type is as important as the call itself. :icon_thumright:
Easy to get but awesome: Hanks Game Calls and David Halloran
Small Makers: Matt Van Cise, Lon Trice, and Brad Roberts
I love busters pots....but I will say whoever is doing the limited runs for Owens makes a heckuva pot as well...actually have a few of busters on the way now including one of his new ones the "old hen" can't wait to hear that girl sing
I didn't see it
Mike Yingling makes a dandy also
Lots of good ones mentioned, but Mark Cornelius and James Witmer MUST be checked out.
My favorites are in no certain order:
Buster Halford
Lon Trice
Travis Wyatt (not currently making calls)
Mark Cornelius
Clay Townshend
Scooter Pegg
David Halloran
Mike Yingling

Depends on the calling surface for me.
Stumpy (Ceramic)
Darrin Dawkins (Aluminum)
Paul Platz (Slate)
Jimmy Schaffer or Halloran (Crystal)
It's nuts that Al Holbert hasn't been mentioned. Excellent calls especially the Corian stuff.

Al makes some great calls. His little square aluminum is outstanding as is the wet one glass.

Al Holbert is definitely my favorite maker. Best sounding calls period as far as pots go

I have a couple of Al's calls. I do like them but don't use them a ton unless rain is in the forecast. What do you mean by "little square aluminum"? I looked on his site and couldn't find this one. Thanks!

Al has made this call since the very beginning of his call making journey. I can't remember the name of the call but it's a 3" x 2" or so wood frame with aluminum glued on top and it comes with a two piece striker. This call just sounds really good and goes on most of my trips to the woods and best of all it's twenty some odd dollars. Cheap price for a great call

I will definitely say it's one of the best values out there in turkey calls.
