A good buddy on the forum shared a very interesting hunting tactic with me. It involves calling to gobblers using Gobbler, Jake yelps, and Gobbles. A video seminar on YouTube he shared is from Unicoi 2023, Roger Parks. Here he discusses the art of calling in Gobblers using Gobbler vocalizations. Very interesting seminar got my attention. Roger reviews a Gobbler Box Call made by Donny Richard's. This box won a gobbler calling championship. This tactic works real well in the Spring and Fall. Roger goes through why calling to gobblers using gobbler sounds is another level of turkey hunting. I decided to get into it, it makes a lot of sense. I got my Gobbler Box from Donny today, it is fantastic. It makes the best "gobble" and Gobbler yelps I ever heard for sure. The box has a larger and deeper sound chamber giving it the deep Gobbler yelps. This wood combo is Poplar with an Osage Lid. I have Donny's card here with his info, great guy to deal with and a mountain of turkey knowledge. He has a line of other calls that look real good to. I plan on learning more about this hunting technique, I feel it could be a game changer on hung-up, henned up Tom's. Thanks for listening... I have Rogers Gobbler slate. Still getting familiar with it before I
take it afield. I have heard good things about Donnys box call.
Agree Tom, Donny makes one awesome gobbler box and like you said he has other calls and a wealth of knowledge in killing gobblers. As Roger and Donny have said sometimes you just have to talk to the gobblers. ..

Donny is a great guy to talk with. Very knowledgeable and will go out of his way to help you after you buy a call. I watched the video from Roger Parks and after my conversation with Donny it makes a lot of sense to me.
After talking with my friends here on OG and based on my conversation with Donny I have a Gobbler box and another call being sent to me.

That's awesome and it's good to always add calls and learn to use them in your call arsenal. Congrats on your new calls coming from Donny..
Nice. I just got my Rogers slate in the mail today. Gonna take some getting use to but I got a whole year before season opens back up.
I wish I could figure out how to gobble on a box call of any name brand, I just can't seem to do it. I may look into this call, I know with a mouth call I will try to call deeper to sound like tom or Jake, normally by dropping my jaw down to give a deeper sound so I can see how the deeper box here makes perfect sense.

Steve, you can easily gobble on Donny's box. If you watch The Roger Parks seminar from Unicom 2023, he demonstrates how to gobble on this box. Very easy to do, and it's very realistic..
