Crisp morning, green leaves
Now prepare yourself my son
The ancient bird lands

Woman gets angry
Down the hall, vile turkey sounds
I will go outside

:TooFunny: Love it!...although I am pretty certain a few folks here are probably researching exactly what a "haiku" is... If I hadn't had to write them for high school English class fifty-five years ago, I know I would be... :D ;D

I recall also have to write Haikus for English. Actually I should say trying to write a Haiku. If I remember there were rules on how they had to be formed.

Lol, thanks GobbleNut. I know it's goofy, but hey, I'm a little off.
Beats watching the crap on TV these days.

Trumpet's soft clucking
Gobble rattles the mountain
Spit and drum below
Predawn darkness fades
Sunrise lights across the ridge
Any moment now
The forest awakes
The monarch booms from the limb
Yoder's will be done

Like Christmas morning
Wait all year for it to come
But over too soon

A Turkey Camp Breakfast:
Crinkling, crackling, dry.
Come on egg, come on egg, fry.
Unhatched embryo.

Pure American
His colors red, white and blue.
Franklin got it wrong
Keep it up guys
I love reading these ....
LOL. I didn't write one in English, I barely survived high school!
Thank God for girls!
Back then I could contract an English assignment for ONE dollar.
Wonder what it would cost now with inflation?
Need one turkey call
Welcome to old gobbler site
Now all money gone
Tom hangs up again
Yes, turkeys are ignorant.
But, his odds ain't good.
My alarm is set
My sleep is restless at best
That happens in May
Who cooks for you all ?
Thunderous answer booms back.
The question changes.
Hyacinths bloom
Redbuds, Oh pallette of spring!
Hen turkey will sing

You sing on the branch
Looking for that special hen
Hit the ground, no songs
Please, twenty more yards
You need see this perfect hen
Rest now king of kings
Silent coyote
Misty morning, softly stalks
Young poults for breakfast

I wish I would have known you back then I would have gladly paid the dollar as I could not write a haiku. I have absolutely no artistic talents
The following haiku has been rated "M" for mature audiences only.
(Not sure if ANYONE here qualifies) :TooFunny:
Standing on her back
Her resin boyfriend watches
The deadly swarm sent
Three full fans approach
Eenie, meanie, miney, moe
Life's tough decisions
El macho grande'
El canta en la jungla

A silent shadow
Ferocious intensity
Something's not right, left
Roosted one last night
Slip silent indigo dawn
Set up at tree, splat
Tiny Chinese bees
Huddled in a yellow hive
Click and send the swarm
Bittersweet ending
Sun sets on an untouched roost
Eleven more months

Life, death, life again
A head turns to hear better
The circle is intact
Rained three days ago
Have walked all the roads today
Only my tracks show up
In dawn's quiet hush,
Hunter waits, breath held, alert,
Gobble echoes near.

Summer approaches
Dawn's silence reveals the lull
One more season past
Laughing on the branch
Unknowing of the danger
A predator waits
Sneaking in the dark
I need twenty five more steps
Now I am ready
A question is posed
An answer received
The heart races
Carefully prepared
I'm having a friend for lunch
Spit out tungsten shot
