I haven't been paying much attention to turkey calls lately, other than some local makers.  I've got a Cody Calls "The Woodsman" slate call in my vest that's been with me many years and sounds fantastic.  I did not know Cody Calls was done, until I saw mention of that here and came across one for sale on eBay for north of $400 and near fell out of my seat. :o  Now I'm not even sure I want to carry the call in my vest anymore, for fear of losing it.  Might be time to retire it and carry something that's not essentially irreplaceable.

Cody Calls is still in business and making calls everyday. I just received a Cody II slate for my buddy a couple weeks ago($57 shipped) and I got my name on the list for a Spec 1 Legend. The people buying these calls on EBay are oblivious to what's actually going on. Now, what I will say is Cody's customer service is lacking and they only randomly answer people's requests to get calls. I don't know why but I had really good luck. Others...not so much.

Cody is not dead. I called in an order last week for a new Woodsman glass and Cody II slate for my sons. Received them this week. Those calls on ebay in the package are $55-$65 current production calls. Those guys are ordering from Cody and reselling on ebay.

Called Saturday and got Debbie voice mail and I ask her to call me back and she did today and I order a Cody II glass and Woodman Slate and I ask about getting on the list for a World Class Glass and she said no problem and she would call me when it's ready. She told me that Cody II and Woodman Slate would ship out Monday ...

The price list that I saw from Cody had a Spec 1 Legend at $400 and I wanna say the World Class was around $300.

There's a few people taking advantage of this "Cody Shortage" on EBay right now. Just saw a Cody Woodsman Slate sell for $499.00 and a Cody2 sell for $324.00. If they could only get up and running in a big way, they would sell a lot of calls. They really are great people, and make calls that turkeys love....

Update, a Woodsman just sold for $510.00. Wow

I received my Woodsman several days ago.  Deb took my order on Sunday and I received it on Wednesday. $75 shipped. Much more economical going straight to the maker.  Thanks Deb!

 :blob10: I don't get the E-Bay pricing. Cody striker up there now for $110. I'm tempted to put my Cody II up there and just buy another one.

Called Cody/Deb left one message..called 3 more times without leaving a message..Now this was around mother's day...Got a call back,5 days later my calls are in the mail box.

Had a few mins on the phone with deb and i got 4 calls for what one call is going for on ebay...Plus i got on the list for other calls.

If your biding/buyin cody calls on ebay your a scum..Call em up and order it right from them...Im gonna share a price list because i feel like some people are misinformed on cody calls period

Anyone know if they are still in business?  I called and phone goes to voicemail recording that is not set up yet and I have emailed them and no response.

I know they make good calls but man getting in touch with them seems to be a hassle

Not for re sale either, for myself and for a couple friends. If you leave her a message she will get back with you. It might take a week or so though. The last time we spoke she called me back she sounded like they were really busy.

Do you have a good contact number?  I have emailed a couple times the last month.  Called the number listed above in another post around 20plus times in the last month and it's the same number I found online.  it goes straight to a "No Voicemail Setup" recording never rings.

And like above post people on eBay are  going wild especially for calls that they sell for around $49-$70 dollars like the II and woodsman.  I would love to own one but for the last month or so it has been the most difficult company getting a hold of

I would have loved to leave a message.

I have tried dozens of times and always get the same message,

"I'm sorry, the person you are trying to reach has voice mail box that has not been set up yet."

Every, single, time!

Bill and his wife are both up in age and moving a lot slower these days. SO my suggestion, be patient and yes sometimes you will get the voice mail box no setup, but other times you can also leave a message so you just have to keep trying. You also have to realize a bunch of people try and make contact with them and order calls. I was fortunate after trying several times to make contact with them and order some calls and they shipped them within a few days.

So my suggestion is keep trying and understand the situation. They are awesome people Bill and his wife. 

I've been waiting on a world class for well over a year now. Try to call every once in a while but don't get anyone and haven't gotten a call back when I'm able to leave a voicemail. I have bought 2 off eBay and paid more than the price list and  Don't regret it at all either, I have resold 1 and kept 1. They are great calls and I was able to get one called up and killed the 2nd time out this past spring with the one I got off ebay. Can't put a price tag on a great hunt. I know everyone gets busy and will remain patient

Never seen that version, but I think they did all the advertising calls in the early 2000's

I had one they made for Mack's outdoors with a feather in it that was made in 2000, I gave it to a buddies son that was just getting started, I wish I had that one back!

I gave away a Woodsman to a kid who was getting into turkey hunting years ago...definitely a happy/sad moment looking back now. Lol

There's a Cody Spec 1 on eBay right now that's up to $750 and it has a laser engraved "misspelled" name of the guy selling it.  It's not even signed by Bill. I can honestly say I've never seen a Cody call that came from them with the buyers name engraved in the back so maybe that's what makes it special.
