Title: 4 Trumpets
Post by: GregGwaltney on April 21, 2024, 03:51:24 PM
Here are 4 trumpets I am finishing up this weekend-- 2 Snakewood, Osage, Desert Ironwood......Not sure why the pics are so big, I resized as usual, but they just are not behaving.

I like the "eye" too, it took some very special care turning to keep it in one piece, but it worked!!

The eye sets it off, worth the extra effort for a sharp looking trumpet

Thanks, finding the lighter background colored snakewood blanks is the hardest, they do show great contrast with the figure, which I like as well.

Very nice!  I struck three gobblers this morning with the trumpet I just got from you. One of them came from a long distance but hung up about 85-100 yards and wouldn't come the rest of the way.  It is multiple gobblers approved!

Quote from: Alabama556 on April 22, 2024, 01:25:24 PMGreg built the Osage call for me. I love the knot. The call was made from a fence post that came off my farm in Alabama. Can't wait to use it this weekend.

Thanks Greg.

My pleasure, it was a fun project. The wood was very dense/heavy and made a great sounding trumpet.
