Just wondering what your favorite sounding woods would be for your carry every hunt box call ....

I never thought I'd beat a Bloodwood over poplar. But this year I bought a Jeff White padauk over black limba and it's phenomenal!! Definitely earned the spot in my vest

Purpleheart over cedar, but I really like cedar in general.

Carry it on every hunt, called in my first bird with it this season. starting to get some satches on it, love it!

I definitely favor domestic woods, but I don't think it really matters as long as the person making the call takes the time and really knows how to carefully tune it.

For a long box, Cedar over poplar.  For a short box, either Black Walnut over Yellow Poplar or Butternut.
