So I think some of you know that I like to collect wood that I think "should" make a good trumpet, then have a makers make me trumpets from it. This piece falls right in that niche for me more than most. This trumpet is made from African Black Chacate, a fairly well-known wood for making flutes. Dave Hodgkins did a great job with it, and to say it sounds great is an understatement.
