As you know, push pins are my favorite/go-to call. I always carry 2, all my calling is primarily using push-pins. I do use a mouth call quite often, and I do mix in other calls from time to time. I stated collecting Shannon's calls as soon as I heard his "Poolside" late-night you-tube video. The sounds he makes on his push-pin are unreal. There's no way a turkey could resist these yelps, clucks, and purrs. I want to share 2 of his earlier calls with you. The one on the left is a Gaboon Ebony I got several years ago on EBay. I won the late night bid and was ecstatic. The call is a very early one of his. The lanyard was extremely long, I've since shortened it. The paddle does not have the Titanium Plate on the bottom like his newer calls have. He told me this is one of his earlier calls, and it sounds awesome. If you look close, the wood has some Brown Hues in the grain. The call on the left is a special call to me. I got it from a friend who wants to remain anonymous. This is also an early call from Shannon, I believe it's from 2014,2015. He refers to this call as his "Hunter Friendly" call. Smaller, the pin is shorter but the sound is awesome. It does have a softer volume level, but it is as deadly as they come. As you can see, the soundboards have that patented "Fancy Veneer" look that gives his calls their unique, unmatched sound. Congrats to all that we're lucky enough to land one of these, they really are treasures to any turkey guru. Good luck this season.....
Very nice Tom! That hunter friendly call is pretty rare.

Yea Jimmy, I think he said he only made a few. I forgot to point out the little tie that secures the pin from moving making noise. Great idea when your on the move......be well
Awesome ! Yes the Gabon ebony is one of the first ones I made for public sale !
The second one is one of less than 20 poplar models with a special layup
Nice ones !
Congrats Ton on some great push pins and the history you shared is priceless... I'm sure they are killers in the turkey woods...
That is some great calls. Most importantly you hunt with them. I have a few rare and expensive calls but I don't own a call that I wouldn't take in the woods!!! Shannon can surely make them talk.
I don't have one of his yet!!! But I am keeping the faith.
I definitely enjoy the dog and pony show when he posts one for sale. Folks can't pay attention to the rules. Cracks me up to see people post who have 2 posts!!! Leeches!!!
I hope that you get a biggun this year!!!!

Thanks for sharing that Tom, really interesting. History in the making!
Appreciate all of you. Yes, I do hunt all my calls, that's what I collect them for. I change them up pretty much every hunt, never using the same one 2 days in a row on the same birds. Be safe, good luck to all...
Those are nice, thx for sharing.
Thanks for sharing a small piece of your collection there "Push-pin Tom". Do you have a favorite??

Thanks for sharing with the included history of the calls....
I also have one of the hunter friendly calls. If you have one I would recommend this Chums Vault as a call case: https://chums.com/products/vault-ltd?Variant=39407673639109¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAxaCvBhBaEiwAvsLmWKlt6Mp5XWfaiHypcE-3mQiT-O_a7gvJBbywp-a5K_EgMPx7DJGW-RoCingQAvD_BwE

Thanks you, nice case for sure. Here is a 2 Push-pin Call holster from a fellow forum member Yoder409. This was built to hold 2 of the Old Gobbler Push-pins. It is built like iron, and well padded. Don makes all kinds of holsters for most calls. Great guy to deal with too. A great option for hunting these calls. Thanks for sharing...
Yoder's call holsters are very nice. I have one of his single push pin holsters and a short box holster. I bought both for my hunter friendly call and the smaller size of the call I have just fits better in the more compact Chums vault, I am sure the "normal" sized OG call will not fit in the vault.

Hey Tom,
Just noticed your post, those are two beautiful calls. If they sound half as good as they look you should be looking forward to many more successful hunts. In my opinion the quality of pushpin calls available is becoming a game changer for many hunters. Take care Buddy.

Appreciate it, I hope you both get a chance to land one. Stay the course, you will...
Really appreciate it

That is a treasure for sure!!
OG's pushpins are the next level .... I've been trying to get 1 for some time and have spent several hours looking at his calls and I can tell you his calls exceed them all
Great post capturing some good info from a collector's POV...always looking for one of Shannon's!
You can thank the Obama administration for the stopping of me making the elephant ivory inlays ..
I've made a few Mammoth IMO , I think the Mammoth is way nicer ...it takes some time to do a inlay so those I only make a few ...if that
Thanks for sharing what an awesome pair of push pins
That is awesome. Very cool call.

Thank you. I hope you land one, good luck....
Second to none, we are truly blessed. The wife's macasssr and my snakewood/ mammoth ivory. This will be handed down for centuries hopefully. Z
These are excellent wood calls. The closest I have are 2 Knight-Hale Fighting Purr calls. They Have really
worked on gobblers at varied times. I think it is smart to vary calls in the same general area, as someone
has mentioned. The playground fight always attracts guests....
Very cool, thanks for the post
Keeping with the theme of the old days, here is an earlier OG call that I bought of the OG website a while back. Not sure of the vintage, but it's a very nice call. Maybe Shannon can enlighten us?(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240418/548dbc031d67722aed25c1a13c9f2642.jpg)

Early hunter-friendly call it looks like. Shannon will recognize it. A beauty there......
Very nice 👍
