What's your favorite pot call in your arsenal
Cox Glass/ slate
Steve Reeves Crystal
David Holloran adonized aluminum

I've got a Halloren crystal that'll run really good and also a couple Steve reeves and his stuff will run really good as well. I really like the double siders
The Halloren does have a chip in the pot though from me dropping it so it just stays put up now

I like several and take several others into the woods but my absolute favorite would be a Sweet Lips slate by Ted "Pete" Peters.
Townsend Osage glass over slate

ceramic in a cherry pot
Reeves pure death
Blodgett slate over glass, one of his early models.
I won't even say. It is a production call (the first I bought) and it has killed a bunch of birds, for me and others. I now have two customs and I like them very much, but the old one is still used regularly.
I really only ever use one of these 3. Brad Roberts Blue Mahoe Bronzed Glass over Aluminum, Cody Spec 1 Slate, Pail Platz Maple Slate. These are my favorite...

All nice ones there!

You heard right. ;D
This slate is my favorite. Randy made it for me when my twin sons were young. I carry it and think of them.

Nice calls! Clint's the man as far as I'm concerned and that Zutter is pretty cool looking, I'm unfamiliar with him.
Halloran Twisted Sister has been a part of more kills than I can count (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240304/ff6fd1695ef986b591c86d19489cd06b.jpg)

A Halloran Crystal Mistress.
Using a Hickory or Purpleheart striker it sounds like two very different hens.

I second the crystal mistress. It's a good one

When I think Favorite, it would be the one that has brought the most birds to the end of my gun barrel or those that I've called for. That one would be a Production gray slate call, that costs $15, with a laminated birch or a JLH Frogwood striker.
Cody 2 , it sounds as good as the world class

I do have an array of Custom pots... but my favorite is a 6 dollar Knight & Hale glass hammer from a clearance bin.

Same experience...picked up a small, lightweight aluminum call in a black plastic pot by Quaker Boy that was sitting in the $5 clearance bin. Sounds amazing.

I'm sure a few (or many) gobblers fell to that call........

Yep, This is the exact reason why... They all sound great but for some reason, on many occasions, that pitch and deflection gets em cranked on that cheap pot.

Wendell Rye, Lights out game calls, anodized aluminum. Has been the death of more than a few over the last decade or so.
As far as straight off the shelf, I've got a primos power crystal that will match any custom that I've ever heard. Crazy how good it sounds in the right hands.
Buster Halford tulipwood pot crystal over red slate
Boyd Smith (Kentucky Klucker).....zebrawood pot with straight slick aluminum. Does everything but gobble.
Josh Shoemaker gray slate in walnut

Yeah for sure. I've got several of his in multiple surfaces and they all are full of Turkey. Always had good prices as well
Stumpy's ceramic with a JLH black and white ebony striker is my go to. It never leaves my vest.
Love my Halloran Double Glass II... Just a really versatile and great sounding all around call. I wouldn't leave the house without it.
A very old twisted sister. Beat up, wood is scratched and dented all over. The top surface is almost conditioned entirely. Has the burn stamp on the back. Still sounds incredible. Favorite strikers for it have been a 2 pc dymondwood, ipe and/or a macassar ebony.
I do love my gray slate almost as much with a hickory striker.
