Has anyone ever cut a benelli barrel down? I did not know if it was possible to cut it down and have enough meat left in the barrel to thread for chokes.
If you're talking 12ga, I'd just look for one of the 21" field barrels and go that route. Thats what I did when I was shooting a 12ga.
It's a 20 gauge m2.
Sorry I should have clarified.

What length did you end up with? I know it has to be cut at a rib.

You can pick a spot depending on the rib post
This is where I marked it

Thanks. I need to find a spare barrel and send to William.

You may can talk to hunt about it. Not sure if he can thread it with Benelli threads
Mine are Truchoke threads, so outside of one of his chokes the other choke options are limited. Not many Truchoke tubes out there

Sumtoy threaded my 14.5 inch benelli 12 gauge barrel and installed one of his chokes. It is threaded for tru chokes as you state. The difference is the 12 gauge barrel came from benelli's factory at 14.5 inches. It was a police gun so it has a straight cylinder.
I hope the cut down 20 gauge barrel has enough wall thickness to be threaded.

I sent my 20 gauge M2 barrel to Briley's and they told me the barrel was too thin to cut and rethread with crio chokes. If I wanted it cut down I would have to use one of their thin wall chokes.
Steve Rose at Rose Action Sports is your guy.
Has done several for us. Winchoke threads when finished.
Steve has cut and rethreaded over 1300 barrels.
Steve has done work for me in the past. Thanks for reminding me of him

Huntin Buddy of mine just got his SBE2 barrel back from Rose and it is perfect but was to thin for any choke system but Tru-Thread.
