Looked on Remington's website and there is an inch difference in the drop at the heel between the walnut stocked 870 and the Synthetic stocked 870. I looked at them at the gun shop and there was a big difference to me, My question is why would Remington make them different?
I don't have the answer but that's a good question.
Maybe something about strength of components made them do that ??? Recoil distribution through the stock might require that based on a hollow synthetic compared to wood. I'm honestly guessing here, but thinking that would make sense... The real question would be, which drop is preferred?
the wood stock for me, I'm looking right down the barrel. The synthetic the rib is pointing up.
