Title: Barrel length Question
Post by: Zugunruhe on January 20, 2024, 10:26:23 AM
I bought a sbeIII 28 ga. It came stock with a 28 inch barrel. I have talked some with a buddy who told me to send it in to be cut down to 26 or 24 or less.

What is the benefit for you guys with shorter barrels aside from mobility? Trying to weigh my options before I send in a new gun for that kind of altering work.

Shorting the barrel will just give you some advance in the swing and movement of your gun. alone with carrying it in the woods ... But if that's a new gun, I wouldn't change it at all, I would hunt the gun like it is ... IMO

If it was mine, and I was using it for Turkey hunting only, I would cut the barrel down to 20  inches.  But if you have any desire to do any kind of wingshooting leave it alone. I have shot doves and ducks with a 28 and it's awesome with TSS.
