Well .... I just got 1 of Mike's copper pots in the mail. Beautiful call and the copper is awesome.

What striker is best on that?

Carbon is always mean on copper, and that's what Mike sends with them. Others, snakewood, a good laminate like frogwood or dymondwood; harder woods in my opinion seem to run better on copper for how I play the call. And that, "how I play the call," is important because the first copper I ever had was an osage from Wendell Rye and he sent two strikers (I think cedar and maybe hickory) but those strikers were mean on that pot for soft stuff. That was my original tree talking call. All that to say, hardwoods for the loud, raspy stuff most often associated with copper, but try out some softer strikers too for soft talk. Copper can be a killer surface for the subtle stuff.

I just use a scotch-brite pad on copper ... how often, just when i think it needs it...
The call was ready to use. Yes he sends a conditioning kit also. It's a good deal and a beautiful call.
