Title: Alps Ambush Sling Pack
Post by: Neill_Prater on February 24, 2023, 04:00:08 PM
Has anyone purchased and/or used one of these? I bought one last week and am looking forward to using it this Spring.

It checks a lot of the boxes for what I was looking for, namely an alternative to a vest. Roomy, very lightweight, well made and easy to quickly remove or put on. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230224/0842464adceb78b5f6c90bd6f129ee03.jpg)

I hunted this sling pack all of last season.

Pros: Awesome for carrying the stuff I wanted to carry. Love the box and pot call pockets. I attached a water bottle molle pocket to the side. Tags, locators, cigars and other random stuff went in the big pocket.

Cons: had to constantly take it on and off every set which is fine until I wanted to grab a different call if a bird wasn't working well to what I had. I would have to lean over and dig it out. Essentially, it isn't the most convenient thing to grab a different call while set up. Only other con I ran into is if you want to crawl to close distance on a bird. It isn't the easiest thing in the world to carry it and your gun.

Overall I'll still be using it until I can get my hands on a tethrd m2
