Picked up a Ventilator Choke tube. Heard good things about them. I will be trying it in my Remington Special Purpose Turkey with a 21 inch barrel.I have a few questions about this tube, and welcome any feedback you have on suggested loads for this set up. Can you use with Winchester Long beards or Extended Range? Is the constriction .650? Finally, does it like 4's, 5's, 6's or smaller shot? Thanks much for your suggestions.....
If I remember correctly it is a .655. Should shoot smaller shot sizes better being that tight and may even shoot a lighter payload better as well.
Hopefully someone with some experience shooting one chimes in.

Dtrkyman remembers correctly .655, you can find some other information on it if you do an internet search.

Amen my friend, a great guy with a whole lotta knowledge......
The choke is .655 inch. I have mine installed in a Rem 870 with a 21" RC barrel with rifle sights. I shoot vintage Federal "Premium" 3" Magnum 2 oz. of copperplated 7 1/2 shot! The results are awesome. Shoots very tight patterns! I can't say how other loads may perform as I stopped testing after shooting those old Federals.

Thank you for the great info......
I shoot an 870 w 21" smoothbore deer barrel and had it threaded for Remchoke, and installed the Ventilator choke
Best ammo for me is Hevi13 #6, which is a blend of tungsten, iron and nickel
Deadly at 40yds
It's a 655.
See what it says on the tube it may be marked lead shot only.
Winchester Longbeard is always an unknown. Remember that stuff doesn't deform so it doesn't necessarily behave like normal lead in a choke tube.
665 generally better all around constriction but 655 will do okay.
It will shoot small TSS ok, but probably better with lead in my experience. Any choke I shot less than .665 blew out the patterns in my 870 and Stoeger and Browning and Benelli. Z
My 870 with the Ventilator choke shot Winchester XX(not HV's) 6's better than anything else. I never tried Longbeards through it. My 870 doesn't shoots 3 1/2" shells very well. With the Ventilator choke it shot some pretty bad patterns with 3 1/2" shells. No matter what brand or shot size, the Ventilator choke I have just doesn't like 3 1/2" shells.
I would be careful shooting anything other than lead through...it says right on it "Lead shot only". I'm guessing they were referring to not shooting steel shot. With that tight of a constriction, anything harder that lead might cause issues/damage.
