When the Mrs killed her first bird this spring after hunting hard every chance she got for three years I knew exactly where the wingbones were going. Matter of fact I texted Tony before I left the field. The next day I had the bones boraxed, vacuum sealed, and in the mail. She'd wanted a call from Tony ever since she got into turkey hunting and I'd always told her we'd send her first bird to him.
So a couple weeks after that Tony announced he was going to have to take a break for a little while and when she saw that her heart was broken. She didn't know I'd already sent the bones off. This past weekend we were sitting on the back porch and I was playing around with a yelper and out of nowhere a gobbler answered up on the ridge. Both of our eyes got real big and I asked her if she wanted a trumpet of her own. She said, "No, I want a Tony Ezolt wingbone."

Today she got her wish.
