How many " out of state" plates did you see hunting this spring. Mine was 14/15, my memory is fading fast peeps. That is a huge number seeing that we are one of the smallest states and not a traditional turkey state. I didn't travel more than 40 miles from my little town. I think the " 49" is a big factor as well as our later season and proximity to other states. How many did you see?

Honestly, none, but I don't live or hunt in a very desirable place. If you were going to hunt my state the region I live isn't really where you'd want to go unless you just like hunting pretty country. Much better populations on the other end of the state. That said, the THP boys put it on the map this season so we'll see how things change as a result of that in the coming years.

More land is posted around here now too. So smaller parcels of land are getting pounded

More than usual. The two guys I talked to said turkey hunting sucked in my kneck of the woods and that they wouldn't be back. One was from PA and one was from Tennessee.

Florida's south zone public land non quota areas will have more out of state plates than Florida cars during opening week. Just the way it is with Osceola fever.  One reason I never feel guilty hunting other states public areas.  The ones I don't bother with are those that charge outlandish non resident fees.  I think FL could charge $500 for a turkey tag and it wouldn't slow the early season circus.
Looked up your bio.  Your state doesn't get much mention does it?  There are a few others with little notoriaty.  Now not the climate to mention them.  Good luck.

I traveled less than normal this year.  I was the outsider for the most part.  More local pressure than I have ever seen in the places I was!

Was still able to avoid others most days.

I did only hunt one day on public, which I only seen two vehicles in the whole place. Large tract of ground, middle of the week, 3rd week I think.

I seen almost no one this year. 3 guys total in two states in 20+ hunts. Two of the guys were together in Virginia.

Talked to my security guards and they said no one was hunting, only checking a few people every day.

Pop goes down, hunter numbers go down. I like it!

Probably ~ 75, across 9 states.

South FL had highest % of course. Next up % wise was probably CT ! Maryland had more than I expected too.

Posts like these drawing attention to your area won't help. Like someone said they checked your profile just to see where you are...... you and I talked about the effects of the internet and social media on  turkey hunting yesterday. I don't guess you were listening.  You have to remember anyone can search these forums and get info, not just the members.  It's all here for the world to see.

You will be seeing more and more in your non-destination state as the northeast is becoming ever more increasing popular to hunt. A lot more exposure on YouTube and social media. With the late season and proximity to other states, it is an easy addition for someone to add onto their "swing" or "tour" while in the northeast. You can also expect a lot more land to become posted as traveling turkey hunters push the boundaries of open trespass. Enjoy what you have while it lasts, cause it won't last.

Gonna get worse

Already rumblings from landowners. My best farm is posted " Hunting by Permission Only", he is really mad about people abusing that. He owns thousands of acres in 5 towns in 2 counties and is thinking about posting it for no hunting. This is a lifelong hunter and he has donated thousands of acres to conservation. He is old school and once he gets fed up we will lose that land to hunt on. I hope it isn't going that way but it looks bad. I am dropping off my usual offering of a smoked turkey breast and cheesecake this weekend. I hope he has calmed down.
