I received this macassar ebony trumpet from Dave Hodgkins back in March and had the pleasure of meeting Dave in person when I moved to Maine.

Dave (blackfalcon on here) does really fine work and I've been looking forward to running his trumpet in the woods. It's a great trumpet with its own distinct sound - and the gobblers have been all fired up over it.

Great call! Mr. Dave makes a good one but it does not seem to matter which one you take this year! Congratulations on a great bird and glad you are enjoying it!

During the process of buying trumpet and a tree call on ebay made by Dave Hodgkin's I called him to ask his prices and what would be fair . He said price was fair that they were asking. After a great conversation he told me he had one that he had built  5 or6 years ago and had just re tooled the insides to his new dimensions  .. short work I bought it and it is straight bank ! My Buddy killed 2 with it and I killed one with it last year 2021  . They are easy running and something  about a good trumpet messes with their mind . Dave's are as good as out there, especially at his price point.

Mr. Dave's trumpets are solid, affordable hunters and the workmanship outstanding. He has been making trumpets for a BUNCH of years and is no rookie.  You will find his work around the necks of serious hunters and in most collections of substance. His wildlife photography is amazing as well and he is a stand up gentleman!
