Title: Late 60s, Early 70s trumpet
Post by: BigMick on April 11, 2022, 11:00:10 AM
Who made trumpets that you could have bought at a sporting goods store in the late 60s / early 70s?
My daddy had one that I remember but I don't remember who made it.
His disappeared someone along the way but I'd like to see if I could find one similar etc.
Thanks!

Buice  didn't start until early 70s and one wouldn't have bin in a sporting goods store. Good chance it was a Turpin.

Probably a Penns Woods, Roger Latham or possibly a late Inman Turpin

Thanks fellas.
I believe it was a Penn's Woods Turpin Trumpet.
Now I'm looking for one.
My dad passed away last September and I'd like to find one and try and kill a bird with it in his memory!!

They sell on ebay regularly but as with all trumpets the price has been going up recently.
