Why I never looked at Bocote before now i don't know . Those are sharp .
I bought a Prudhomme at Unicoi and wasn't impressed by the wood until I got it home ! It sure is an overlooked wood now that I really started paying attention ... !
Nice looking wood/calls.....Bocote is beautiful to look at and an excellent tonewood, reminds me of a rosewood sound-wise.
There sharp looking.
Bocote grain figure never disappoints

Greg, that's interesting, how would you say bocote and rosewood compare to snakewood or ironwood tone/sound wise?
Bocote does have a good sound, it is not there with Lignum and Mopani but most will not hear the difference, I don't think the turkeys would.

I can honestly say that I can't really tell the difference in most woods, I feel it would be really hard for me to tell the differences from someone playing a walnut trumpet or a lingum vitae from the same maker. That's why I usually tell people to get a wood that they like the looks of. I can tell more differences in a box call than any other type.

I hear you Chris, but I have a good turkey hunting friend that will listen to me run 6 calls and he will pick out the Mopani every time, Maybe he has turkey ears, Dave
