Interested to hear how the catalpa works for you. I have several thick boards taking up too much space in my shop right now that I have been looking for a reason to hang on to.

I've had great success with catalpa as a box and various dense woods as lids. This call matched with an osage lid was outstanding.

I have a long box from Larry Gresser that was mulberry over catalpa that sounds real good. Your's is also a nice looking box. I have a walnut over cottonwood which you don't see too often.
