Busters red slate/persimmon matched with Jeff Harrison's frog wood striker to start, fly down with Marlin's misfit red cedar/purpleheart, soft purring, and clucks with Strawser's blue duce, a finisher with Sadler McGraws mouth call "judge and jury"...
Daybreak paduak ceramic I picked up from a forum member this year. It has earned a permanent spot in the vest.
Knight and Hale model 150 push button
Primos greenleaf turkey track cut mouth call
Twinfeather purr pot
Lynch composite pot call
I really don't know that calling is what got my two birds killed this year with the two sets of soft yelps and five clucks
Bird one was one Yelp and four clucks on a Rut'n'strut slate over glass with a hand made ceramic sticker
Bird two was one Yelp and one cluck getting the hens attention on a Vaughan's glass over glass with the same ceramic striker
Vac cise box fired him up. Finished w a mt side slate and a van cise batwing
Hallaron crystal mistress and stumpy ceramic worked great on my TN bird. In MI nothing is working so far.
Gobbler number 1 was the Al Holbert Enticer Next generation and a David Halloran Crystal Mistress.
Gobbler number 2 was the Al Holbert Next Generation, The Al Holbert Wet One Slate, and the finish him from the hang up, my Daryal Gosey Trumpet

Sweetbriar slate/slate with a Lyman snakewood. Not real sure why I'm carrying anything else this year. It's been bad news for several gobblers.
Lohman thunderdome X 6 , 5 of which ran a set of decoys (half strut jake/ feeder hen) woods birds
Reaping fan X 3
Allen jenkins monogamy and Walnut double diamond box
Walnut Super Yelper Scratchbox and a Jeff White short box.
ET one sider and Halloran metal mouth did really well for me in FL. Above average year for sure.
I usually use a black wasp mouth call and some sort of trumpet non stop and kill birds good but for some reason this spring I never once used a mouth call and called a lot in,my first I used nothing but a Buice pink ivory trumpet, next I used a ez wingbone from start to finish on one, then took some buddies and did the calling,on one they were two together and I used a Lewis Stowe snake wood trumpet and a David holleran aluminum in a zebra wood pot,I have had this pot a few years and never took it to the woods for some reason and it sounded killer, then another day they were giving hard rain all day so I left my expensive calls and threw some cheap calls in my vest,we ended up striking one with a wingbone I made and finished it with a cheap Quaker boy push pin ez yelper,I had never once taken it hunting and the cluckd sounded decent so I thought I would throw it in there, the birds loved that thing that day, they were two even flew across this dried up creak ravine thing over to my side where we were sitting on a bluff,we came to that bluff at the crack of daylight and they were some hammering close so we were afraid to try to go down it and get closer so we just sat up there and thought we would shoot across it if they came, they ended up walking down out of range, leaving to the right and then they got fired up on that ez yelper and flew over and landed behind us,...and a buddy tagged one of them.it sure was odd never using a mouth call,I just had such good luck with everything else it just never crossed my mind and I had an awesome season...

Sent you pm. Sorry, just saw this
Lewis Stowe Double glass, various mouth calls
Mark Cornelius walnut grey slate
1)Mill Creek Valley Box call.
2) Quaker Boy Turkey Thugs Trigger Box.
Unfortunately none.....
Mad shady lady purple heart over mahogany box call. Not the most expensive call but the birds seem to like it.
The pot call I used with the most kills was a laminate Stumpy ceramic pot. It rose to the top as my favorite call this year. Others that were in on kills were Buster's red slate in a persimmon and Travis Wyatt's glass over slate in a sappy walnut pot. Birds responded well to Bigslam's anodized aluminum in a canarywood pot and Clay Townsend's glass over slate in zebrawood. Mouth calls I ended up using consistently were Gooserbat ICE, OsS, and Hillbilly. Want to try his DTW next year.

Bird #1- got him to hit on a Marlin Watkins All cedar paddle then switched to a Chad Zutter chestnut slate
Bird #2- started him on a Paul Platz crystal over aluminum 2 sider and finished him on a Dave Owens blue Ghost cut
VT Bird #1 - Watkins Bloodwood/Beech Fiddlebox
VT Bird #2 - Watkins Macassar Ebony/Persimmon Fiddlebox
NH Bird - Lapp Purpleheart/Cedar shortbox
NY Bird #1&2 - Combo cut mouth call made by me
Honorable mention would be Marlins coaxer call. That was always in the vest this season.
Even though being a little ill for a week or so I had a great year with 13 kills for friends and self. I switched up on box calls every couple days and had great luck with peach/ serviceberry, sycamore/ yellow heart, all walnut, sycamore/ beech and a couple others. Used the paddle call on a couple and the trumpet call to help on a couple and used the little Coaxer call on every bird at some point. It was a good spring but already thinking of fall.
My Josh Farley Small Talk in Bloodwood over Limba was the best solution for stubborn Toms hunting with me Dad this year, but Nathan Taylor's pots in Red Slate, and the one he turned for me out of walnut I sent him with Purple Slate, were responsible for tagging me out this season.

Well the call I use has worked for the last 25 years, That's my CODY World Class Slate and I retired it this year and now sits on a display, over the last 4 years I have been playing a CODY SPEC 1 LEGEND Slate too with the same great results. I'll be hunting this call next year "#5" and for the next 20 years after that.
MK M GOBL
Only call I had anything come in on is the purple slate call that I made.
